Nettle wins the DIAmond Award at ITC Europe 2026

BARCELONA, June 3, 2026 – Nettle, an AI-powered risk engineering platform for commercial property insurers, has taken home the DIAmond Award at ITC Europe 2026. The prize was presented live on the main stage on 29 May, closing out two days at the historic La Llotja de Mar that brought together more than 650 insurers, insurtechs, and investors, with senior leaders travelling in from 41 countries.
"Taking home a DIAmond is a genuine honour, and doing it in a room this senior makes it mean even more. What stood out this year was how central prevention and risk engineering have become to the conversation. That shift is exactly what we are building for. Huge credit to the ITC organisers, to the Nettle team, and to the customers who keep backing us as we grow."
Jack Miller, Co-Founder and CEO of Nettle
The DIAmond Award is the headline recognition from ITC Europe's live Startup Showcase, the flagship platform where a shortlist of companies pitch their work in front of an audience of senior insurance leaders, investors, and buyers. Winners are chosen and recognised on stage as the showcase closes, making it one of the most visible moments of the event for any early-stage company.

Held under the theme "The Art of Innovation: Where Creativity Meets Capability," ITC Europe 2026 leaned into prevention more than in previous years, with risk engineering taking centre stage more than once across the agenda. A standout moment for the Nettle team was Generali's demonstration of its immersive AR risk engineering system, MetaRELP, led by Matthew Day and Adrián Díaz de Ilarraza. It was a clear signal of how quickly the discipline is modernising, and of the appetite across the market for tools that help engineers do more.
Nettle's showcase centred on the structural capacity crisis facing commercial property risk engineering. With more than 40% of property risk engineers in the UK and Europe set to retire within the next five years, and the training pipeline unable to keep pace, carriers are under growing pressure to assess more risks with fewer experts. Nettle's platform automates large parts of the risk engineering workflow, from pre-survey preparation through to post-visit report generation, so that engineers can focus on the judgment only they can provide. Commercial insurers using Nettle have reported productivity gains of up to 5x in risk assessment throughput.
The DIAmond win caps a strong twelve months for the company. In June 2025, Nettle took the top prize at Guidewire's InsurPitch London competition, before joining Guidewire's Insurtech Vanguards programme the following month. In November, it was named Best Insurtech at the FF Awards, and in April 2026 Allianz Türkiye chose Nettle to lead its AI-powered risk engineering work. Recognition from a different corner of the industry each time suggests the problem Nettle is solving is resonating well beyond any single audience.

From Barcelona, the team heads straight to New York. If you would like to meet while Nettle is in town, get in touch.
